“For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.”
Colossians 1:19-20 NKJV
“God willed to make known ... the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” Colossians 1:27 NKJV
Jesus made peace between God and man through the blood of His cross. He reconciled us to God and bore in Himself the Holy wrath of God that we deserved; now the way to God is open to anyone who approaches Him through Jesus.
Since the way to God’s holy presence is open, snd we have been reconciled to God, why would we not come to Him with every need? Why would we continue to suffer alone when we don’t have to?
Our own love of sin, our own pride, and the opposition of this rebellious world to God all conspire to keep us away from Him; and the devil, who loves to enslave people uses these very things to hold us captive.
Today we celebrate the resurrection of the Lord of Life. It was impossible for death to hold Jesus captive.
By His power working in you - “Christ in you, the hope of glory” - it will be impossible for you to be held captive, too.
The door is open. Bring it to Him.
