"The sum of your word is truth, and every one of your righteous rules endures forever." - Psalm‬ ‭119:160‬

We call this “verbal plenary inspiration.” What we mean by that is what this verse states: the Bible was inspired by the Holy Spirit in the mouth of His Prophets and Apostles so that as a whole (plenary) it is true, and every part of it, every word (verbal) is true, too. We can’t say that the Bible is generally true but we disagree with some parts of it.

The sum of it is truth, and every command, every promise, and every word of it, inspired by the Holy Spirit, given for our instruction, is forever. It doesn’t go out of style or stop being the right way to live as society changes or public opinion shifts.

Yesterday the anti-Christian Equality Act was passed by the House of Representatives for the second time. (The House actually passed it in 2019, too, but the Senate at that time refused to even consider it, so it died.) Now it goes to the Senate for consideration. Pray for our country!

Lord God, our Father in Heaven, forgive us for letting things get to this point, where our elected representatives can even consider passing such blasphemy into law. Give wisdom to our governing authorities. Turn us back from the course of self-destruction, and keep the hearts of Your children faithful to Your Word, no matter what the World demands. Be with us now, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
