"Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created." - Revelation‬ ‭4:11‬

Why does the World, including so much of the current academic and scientific community, so readily accept, defend, and swear by the scientifically indefensible theory of evolution, when the vast body of actual evidence so clearly supports creation?

The answer to that conundrum is in this verse. God is worthy to receive glory and honor and power because He created all things. If I recognize that God has created me and all that exists, then I must also recognize that I owe Him glory, honor, and power over my life.

So mankind, in our rebellion against God, searches anxiously for any theory, no matter how absurd, that will let us off the hook of recognizing the sovereign lordship of God. Evolution fits the bill: it claims that all things including we ourselves, have come about by nothing but coincidence, happenstance, a nearly infinite series of amazing mutations that, contrary to all the laws of science and nature itself, gradually turned a blob of protoplasmic slime into what we are today.

Light rejected brings darkness.

On the other hand, light received brings more light. Through faith in Christ, God “has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.” (Colossians‬ ‭1:13-14‬) So by faith we are delivered from the darkness and confusion of the World in its rejection of God. We can see the absurdity of it all in the light of His Word. Lord, I confess that the confusion of this World has affected my thinking in many ways. Thank You for turning on the lights in my heart. Give me more understanding as I get to know You better. Open the eyes of my heart, in Jesus’ name. Amen. Pastor Dan Giles
