"The Lord is righteous in all his ways and kind in all his works." - Psalm 145:17
Some people are righteous but not kind. Some are kind but not righteous. The Lord is both at the same time, always.
The Lord is righteous in all His ways. He doesn’t do anything that isn’t perfectly righteous. In fact, righteousness is defined by God’s point of view on everything. God’s way is always the right way.
The Lord is kind in all His works. He doesn’t do anything unkind, ever.
As we, by God’s grace, become more like Jesus, we learn to combine these two qualities, righteousness and kindness, in the way we live and work and speak. Rightly answering the question, “What would Jesus do?” will always lead to the righteous and kind thing to do.
Lord Jesus, I am by nature neither righteous nor kind. Your forgiveness has declared me free of the guilt of these failures. By Your Holy Spirit, enlighten my heart. Make me more like You as You live in me day by day. Amen.
