Darkness and death spread over the whole earth as a result of Adam’s sin. The whole human race, descended from Adam and Eve, descended into the darkness of separation from God.

"...the dark places of the earth are full of the haunts of cruelty."

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭74:20

In those places where the Word of God has been rejected and lost, the darkness lies thickest and the levels of cruelty and violence are unspeakable. And even seeing this, the heart of man still rebels against God and desperately seeks some other explanation for everything.

Our schools explain that it’s all Evolution, an accident, a result of random chemical reactions in a chaotic and senseless world, and if only we could get more people educated there would be civilization, peace and order; God is not needed.

That’s the same old darkness dressed in a white lab coat. Our college campuses today prove it.

“The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.”‭‭ (John‬ ‭1:9)

“And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.‭‭" (Acts‬ ‭4:12‬)

"For if, because of one man's trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ."  (Romans‬ ‭5:17‬)

Lord, we know that the light of Your Word is all that stands between us and chaos, darkness, and savagery.  As our own people turn our backs on You and reject Your Word, the darkness grows. Help us who know You to pass knowing You on to the next generation. Let Your grace and righteousness reign in the life of our children, Lord Jesus. Amen.
