"Your hands have made and fashioned me; give me understanding that I may learn your commandments." - Psalm 119:73
Everybody’s different. Like snowflakes, we’re each unique, because God has designed each one of us in His infinitely creative way.
We’re different from one another not only in the more obvious outward physical characteristics but in the mysterious inner workings of the heart and mind. While we have much in common, the unique temperament and package of abilities (and disabilities) with which we are born makes us each different from everyone else. Add to that the varying experiences of life that shape us and the way each of us responds to life, and you have a really unique set of individuals.
Because of all this, by God’s design, we respond to God’s Word in different ways.
The ideal of instant, unwavering faith in God’s promises and quick, wholehearted obedience to His commandments is the goal toward which we strive and toward which God is leading each of us, but getting there is never easy and the process by which each of us comes to understand these things is something that only the Spirit of God can bring about.
The good news is that He made you and formed you, so He knows you inside and out. In His infinite love for you He will always work to accomplish His purpose in your life. He will be your teacher, if you let Him.
Lord, You know me. I am the person I am because of Your loving creation. You wired my brain the way You wanted it and Your hand has been on me in all of life’s experiences. Teach me Your will, as You know best, for Jesus’ sake. Amen.
