“That the leaders took the lead in Israel, that the people offered themselves willingly, bless the Lord!”

‭‭Judges‬ ‭5:2‬

It’s a blessed thing when we see God’s people step forward and respond to the call of the Holy Spirit to some way of serving in His Kingdom.  When our present church building was purchased and remodeled from a septic tank pumper warehouse into a holy place of worship, volunteers put in hours and days of work.  We have octogenarians and teenagers who serve in the Food Pantry and twenty-somethings teaching Sunday School.  We have people who bake banana bread, pour coffee, carry out the trash, pound nails, sweep floors, tweak microphones, and sing.

When the leaders of the congregation step up and do what their calling calls for, whether that’s pulling weeds in the parking lot, keeping track of finances, or visiting the sick and shut-ins during a pandemic, that’s a beautiful thing to see, and a blessing from God.

We see the Spirit of God at work in the Body of Christ in so many ways, and we bless the Lord!

Lord Jesus, thank you for letting us see You at work through your Body on earth.  Thank you for each member you have placed in our congregation and the faithful service of each one.  We bless you for these, your gifts.  Amen.
