“These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.”

‭‭John‬ ‭15:11‬

The Lord Jesus said this even as He prepared his disciples for His pending crucifixion, just a few hours away. But He speaks of joy.

The disciples knew very well the joy that seemed to pour out of Him; when He said, “These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you.” They weren’t thinking, “Joy?  What joy?” but, “Yes!  Give me that joy! Fill me with it!”

Only as we stay close to Jesus, abiding in Him, are we able to see that no matter what we’re currently facing God will fulfill His purpose in us and in our life.

Abide in Him. Stay close to Jesus today. Let His joy fill you in this moment.

Lord Jesus, keep my heart close to You. Let Your Spirit flow through me, so that the joy of Your presence can rise up in me to meet the circumstances of today. Amen.
