"The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. And those who know your name put their trust in You, for You, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You."
Psalm 9:9-10
When things get hard, we have a stronghold, a place of refuge, where we can rest. “The Name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe.” (Proverbs 18:10)
We can run to Jesus with our sin, and find forgiveness. We can run to Him when we are subjected to injustice and oppression and find comfort and safety. We can entrust our fears, our hopes, our pain and our disappointments to His care and leave them with Him.
Prayer is a wonderful thing. God is always available and ready to listen, He has the power to take care of His children, and He always does.
Lord Jesus, You are my place of refuge, my stronghold, my safe place. You know all about my life; You hear me when I cry to You, and You answer my prayers. I find my peace in You, and rest. Keep me close, Lord. Amen.
