"The earth, O Lord, is full of your steadfast love; teach me your statutes!" - Psalm‬ ‭119:64

Everywhere we look, often in the least likely places, we discover evidence of God’s steadfast love. It’s a constant source of amazement and delight.

I have been especially amazed to see reflections of His love and beauty in dark corners of the human race. I have watched in wonder as people who live in the most horrible conditions of poverty; people living under unspeakable cruelty and abuse; people enslaved by addictions, have sometimes come up with the most tender expressions of God’s love. Sometimes I have just been there as an observer; other times I have been the recipient of these unexpected demonstrations of the lovingkindness of God.

It never ceases to take my breath away. A heart touched by God’s love becomes able to forgive others, overlook offenses, overcome differences and reach out with healing even in the midst of pain; and the very character of God is revealed there, in that moment.

Lord, teach me Your statutes. Make me more like You! Let Your lovingkindness and steadfast love flow naturally out of my heart, instructed by You, in Jesus’ name. Amen. Pastor Dan Giles
