Have you ever noticed that these two verses are one sentence? When we hear the whole statement we see that casting all our cares on the Lord is the opposite of taking matters into our own hands and trying to manipulate things so that they turn the way we think they should.
Anything beyond my power to control is in Godโs hands and nothing is beyond His power.
Knowing that not only is He able to make all these things that concern me so deeply turn out the way that pleases Him, but also that He cares for me, I can release my anxieties to Him and rest. I can relinquish control, put it all in His hands and trust Him.
Just saying, โLord, this is beyond me. Iโm leaving it in your hands,โ is a humbling experience. Itโs also liberating. I can quit carrying burdens I was never meant to carry, and rest.
