Thursday, July 9 Devotional

"From of old no one has heard or perceived by the ear, no eye has seen a God besides You, Who acts for those who wait for Him." ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭64:4‬ God acts for those who wait for Him. This tells us two things: One, that God will act on our behalf. He will answer our prayers and He will give us what is best. He is never just a spectator to what we’re going through; He participates, guides, and takes care of His beloved children. And two, we have to wait. God acts according to His own timetable; He has his own agenda, His own purpose and His own plan. He is in charge; we aren’t. That, of course, is good news, because since He is in charge He also takes responsibility for our lives. And since He is good, we can trust Him, His plan, and His purpose. "I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in His word I hope." ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭130:5‬ Waiting on the Lord, putting our hope in His Word, is a good place to be. Lord Jesus, I’m waiting on You. I know You have a good plan and a purpose in everything that touches me. I know that You will fulfill Your purpose in my life and I trust that You will be glorified in me. I will wait patiently, because I know that You are good, and Your love never fails. Amen.
