"Come and hear, all you who fear God, and I will tell what He has done for my soul."

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭66:16‬

We need to hear one another’s testimonies of what the Lord has done in our lives. Listening to someone else’s story of answered prayer is such an encouragement!

We need to tell each other about these things, too. Just as it helps us to hear the stories of answered prayer from others, it helps us to tell our own stories of God’s mercy and tender care as well. As we tell about it, the memory of His loving touch is renewed in us and we ourselves are strengthened.

We need to hear each other say, “Let me tell you what the Lord has done for me!” And we need to hear, “Tell me how the Lord answered that prayer request that you shared with us last week!”

I had grown up in the church, but what really ignited faith in my heart as a young man was hearing others - especially other guys my own age - talk about their relationship with Jesus, and specific ways the Lord had answered their prayers.

I remember that one guy shared how he had asked the Lord where he should go to buy a new pair of jeans, and how God had answered that prayer. You never know which of your testimonies of God’s hand at work will be just what someone else needed to hear that day!

Lord Jesus, give me an opportunity to tell someone today about something You have done in my life. Give me a chance to hear about someone else’s answered prayer, too. Open my ears to recognize when You are giving me the opportunity to do either of these things, so that I stop and pay attention. Amen!
