“𝙒𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙚𝙢𝙥𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙥𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙨, 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙙 𝙞𝙨 𝙣𝙤 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚, 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙚𝙤𝙪𝙨 𝙞𝙨 𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙝𝙚𝙙 𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧.” -Proverbs 10:25
How is it with you and the Lord? Are you finding it difficult to hang on to your faith, to resist temptation, and to be faithful in the things of God now, while we aren’t able to gather together at church?
In many places around the world, this is normal. Christians have to meet in small groups in their homes, because gathering for public worship as Christians is forbidden.
God has given us the opportunity to see what we’re really made of.
Will we come out of this time of “social distancing” stronger, more committed to Jesus, more determined than ever to guide our own decisions and lead our families in God’s way? Or will we come out of this having lost the habit of worship, of prayer and the reading of Scripture, and with no desire for Christian fellowship? Will our commitment to Christ and our trust in His Word and His faithfulness crumble and be replaced by other habits and attitudes?
Men, now is the time to step into the role of being the spiritual leader in your home. Women, support your men in this most essential of masculine duties.
Those who are single, men and women, focus on the things of the Lord and on pleasing Him.
Let’s treat this as a practice run for the time that will surely come, when we as Christians don’t have the freedom that we have enjoyed in this country for more than two centuries. We don’t know what or when the future holds for us, but we can read what the Bible reveals about the days before Christ’s return.
“𝘽𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙮! 𝙄𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠 𝙣𝙤𝙩, 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙎𝙤𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝙈𝙖𝙣 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙧𝙚𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙣.” -Luke 12:40
