"O Lord, you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways." - Psalm‬ ‭139:1-3‬

God knows everything about you. He knows what you do when no one else can see; even the innermost thoughts of your heart. He knows the good things you do when no one else knows about it as well as the bad things that no one knows about.

I personally find this knowledge both comforting and frightening. He knows and rewards the good things; that’s comforting. But He sees and knows the bad stuff, too, and He is the Judge to whom I must give an account one day.

If it were not for the fact that Jesus revealed the loving kindness of God as my Heavenly Father, who loves and forgives me even when I sin, I would be lost. The thought of standing before Him without that certainty would be terrifying.

Knowing that my sin is under the blood of Jesus so that it will never be taken into account, I’m free to approach God, the Lord of the Universe, my Father in Heaven, with the full confidence of a beloved child.

Father, You know me. You know it all, and yet You love me. I worship You. Thank You for Your mercy and your unfailing kindness to me. Never let me forget that your hand is upon me, that You are watching over me as a loving Father, every minute of every day. Keep my heart close to You, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
