"For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong." - 2 Corinthians‬ ‭12:10‬

God has always shown Himself strong when His people are weak. When we have no other recourse, we turn our hearts wholly to Him. When all our other support systems have failed and we don’t know where else to turn, we trust in Him most sincerely; we fix our eyes and all our hope on Him.

Jesus is seen in us most clearly when we are weakest. When old age or sickness or injuries do their work and we find we can’t do the things we want or even take care of ourselves, the Lord Jesus becomes our strength and our shield. He provides our needs and His Holy Spirit is our comforter and constant companion.

When we are insulted and ridiculed for our faith in God He is near to us. When we meet hardships of any kind, He takes us by the hand and walks us through them.

When persecution comes, the faithfulness of Believers becomes glorious, as God pours His Spirit out on us, strengthening us for that moment of need.

When disaster strikes, He moves in us to rise up in faith and love like never before.

And so we can be content in all of these. The Lord is sufficient for us, and we can trust Him.

Lord Jesus, I don’t know what the future holds, but I know that whatever comes, by the power of Your Holy Spirit, I will be safe. Keep me close. I trust You. Amen.
