"And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment, so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him." - Hebrews‬ ‭9:27-28‬

This verse lays out in a few words everything we need to know.

1. We are all going to die, but only once. There is no such thing as reincarnation or a second chance at this life.

2. Judgment day is coming, in which we will all stand before God to give an account of the life that He loaned to each one of us.

3. The Lord Jesus has secured forgiveness and salvation for us by His own death on our behalf.

4. The Lord Himself, who is the Judge, has an agenda on the day of judgment, and that agenda is to save us who are eagerly waiting for Him, from that judgment.

Flee to Jesus now! Don’t wait to see what happens next; we’ve already been told what’s coming. Receive the forgiveness He offers and wait for Him.

Lord Jesus, in spite of my sin You have called me Your own. By Your sacrifice in my place, I am forgiven and the Day of Judgment holds a glorious promise of deliverance for me instead of the fearful condemnation I deserve. Come quickly, Lord Jesus! Amen. Pastor Dan Giles
