"Then those who feared the Lord spoke with one another. The Lord paid attention and heard them, and a book of remembrance was written before him of those who feared the Lord and esteemed His name."
Malachi 3:16
God hears our conversations and pays attention to what we’re saying. The Bible says that we will give an account for every idle word we speak, and that He hears when we talk about Him and His Word.
When the prophet Malachi spoke, there was a group of people who took it to heart, talking amongst themselves about what the Word of God said and how they should respond. God took note of it and made a record of their names.
How do we respond to God’s Word? The Bible tells us, “Let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” (Hebrews 10:24-25)
Lord, fill my mind, my heart, and my mouth with your Word so that I become an encourager of others to walk in Your ways. Make our church a place of encouragement, where we motivate one another to love and good work. Fill our minds with Your thoughts, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
