“To this end we always pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling and may fulfill every resolve for good and every work of faith by his power, so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.” ‭‭2 Thessalonians‬ ‭1:11-12‬ We pray to be worthy of God’s call, knowing that we aren’t and can’t be worthy of it; we stand by grace alone.  Yet we aspire to a life that reflects His love and grace - a life worthy of His calling in that sense. The Holy Spirit awakens good resolve, good intentions in our hearts; we need God’s power to fulfill those good resolutions. We step out in faith; only God can fulfill what we have dared to believe He will do.  (That’s the nature of faith: we step out, depending on God to fulfill His promises.) As we live by His power, the Lord Jesus is glorified in us.  And when He is glorified in us, we are glorified in Him.  His glory fills us and is reflected through us the way a light bulb or an LED is filled up and made to glow when electricity flows through it. Lord Jesus, awaken in me the resolve to do your good will and the ways in which you would have me step out in faith today.  I’m counting on your Spirit’s power flowing through my life to make it happen.  Be glorified in me today.  Lord Jesus, light me up! Amen
