"The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned." - 1 Corinthians‬ ‭2:14

Do your old friends think you’re nuts?

Do they wonder how your life changed and you stopped joining them in sinful things that they still consider normal because “everybody does it?” Do you find yourself with a whole new set of friends who talk about Jesus and the Bible and answers to prayer? Do your old friends think you’re a fool for hanging out with such a bunch of losers, who never have any “fun?”

Does the old crowd wonder why you have decided that marriage is supposed to be between one man and one woman and we don’t have the right to redefine it? Do they scratch their heads and wonder why you’re stuck in ancient ways of thinking about moral issues and refuse to get with the times? Do they tell you they think you don’t believe in “science” any more? The things of the Spirit of God look foolish to people who don’t know Him. It doesn’t matter whether they’re atheists or church members in good standing; people don’t naturally understand why the Bible says what it does or why we take it to mean what it says. But when the Holy Spirit comes into our heart, faith is awakened in Jesus. A new birth takes place. What was unplugged from God suddenly is plugged back in and we start to see things differently, in the light of God’s presence in our heart. Praise God for the change, impossible to explain but wonderful to experience. Oh God, thank You for revealing yourself to me. Thank You for coming into my heart and turning on the lights. Thank You for forgiving my sin and making me Yours. Now keep me close to You in this life, in Jesus’ name, amen. Pastor Dan Giles ____________________
