"With my voice I cry out to the Lord; with my voice I plead for mercy to the Lord. I pour out my complaint before him; I tell my trouble before him. When my spirit faints within me, you know my way!" - Psalm 142:1-3
Time after time I ask someone, “How are you today?” And I hear the reply, “I’m not complaining...”. Then with a wry smile they add, “There’s no point in complaining; no one’s listening, anyway!”
Well, maybe no human wants to hear our troubles; everyone has troubles of their own. But God is infinitely patient and He genuinely cares about you. So we have this word from Him: “Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time He may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:6-7)
With Jesus as Lord of your life, nothing can touch you without His permission and you will find that in everything He is working for good for you. (Romans 8:28)
Trust in Him. Pour out your complaints to Him; tell Him your troubles. He’s listening, and He has a plan and a purpose, and He will bring both His plan and His good purpose about in your life as you follow, close to Him.
Even when your spirit faints within you and you don’t feel in yourself the strength to go on, He knows the way, and He will walk you through it.
Lord Jesus, only You can lead me through my darkest days. When I don’t know where to turn, I’ll just follow You. Keep me close. Amen. Pastor Dan Giles
