"I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour my Spirit upon your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants." - Isaiah 44:3
God promised the faithful remnant of the people of Judah, whose hearts ached as they saw the way their nation had turned its back on the Lord, that He would pour out His Holy Spirit on their offspring - their children and grandchildren - and return them to Himself.
Many of us claim that Word of promise today.
Lord, we lift up the generations that follow after us, in prayer. In many ways we have fumbled the ball, and the ungodly influences at work to draw them away from You are powerful. Many of them have lost their faith. Forgive us, Lord! Fill us with the love and wisdom we need to win the hearts of these, our beloved children and grandchildren, back to You. Bless your Word in the mouths of the faithful witnesses that You are providing from among their peers. Open their hearts in sincere repentance and living faith, in Jesus’ name and for His sake. Amen.
